MR TALL, DARK AND HAVE SOME

My second favourite man is back on telly tonight. David B packing heat...what more could a girl want! I am very excited - yes, I know I need to get a life! I will be back tomorrow, that's if I haven't slipped into a drool induced coma.

Note to Erik - that was a joke sweetie...my health is fine.

Somebody stop me...LMAO

IT'S ALL A MATTER OF TRUST

I've encountered my share of scary people online. Most of the time I've been able to laugh it off and move on because I've realised these people are nutters and not worth my time.

I had an upsetting experience online recently, with someone I considered a friend, which was much harder to deal with. I'm a very open person and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I don't want to go into too much detail but I must say, the whole experience made me look at people in a different way. I felt paranoid and closed off... no wonder I couldn't write...I didn't trust my instincts anymore and wondered if other people I knew on the net would turn around and stab me in the back too.

There I was feeling miserable and untrusting when somebody I hardly knew offered to phone me. I considered saying no because of recent events but I'm so happy I decided to say yes and trust my gut feelings again. We laughed for hours and my faith in bloggers was renewed.

There are many nutters in cyber land but most are just normal people like you and me; looking for companionship, a place to share ideas and opinions or escape from the 'real' world for a little while. The good souls I've met here, far outweigh the crazies.

I've learnt a lot about myself. I know I have to be more careful but more importantly, I mustn't let one bad experience change who I am inside because that would be a real tragedy.

Love you guys, be careful out there.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY H

Happy Birthday to my youngest step-daughter. I've been browsing through old photos today...seems like just yesterday she was in nappies, they grow up so fast.

It's hard to put H into words really...loving, generous, bubbly, funny, talented, artistic, intelligent, blonde, fun loving, crazy...I could go on and on...She sounds a bit like me actually. I've know her since she was a baby and it's hard for me to believe sometimes that she isn't my own flesh and blood.

Happy Birthday sweetheart, I'm very proud of you and love you to bits, enjoy your day and I'll talk to you soon.

Love and kisses
Evil step-mother

FREE BOOKS

I'm an avid reader - well, I was before I discovered blogging! My spare room is literally full of boxes of books. These pics are of some of the books I haven't started reading yet.

I'm sure this pic is upside down...another blonde moment!

Most people rescue puppies or kittens...I rescue books. My friend Jay and I filled my car with books which were heading to the recycle truck. Tsk, throwing away books...what a waste.

I'm heading somewhere with this post, honest.

I've been a member of bookcrossing.com for three years now. Basically, after I've finished reading a book, I send it on to another bookcrosser or leave it in a public place for somebody else to pick up and hopefully read. It's a wonderful way of sharing books and as you can see from the above pics; I hardly have space for the books I've yet to read, never mind the ones I've finished!

I received the above book in the mail recently. After five minutes of drooling over the book jacket, I turned to the blurb inside which reads:

"Blistering sexuality and eroticism...electrically charged and just a sinful good read!"

There was also a postcard inside which said:

Hi KB, this book is a surprise for you...I just didn't know which bookcrosser would like to read it and you were my choice...

I laughed so much when I read this. I wasn't sure if I should be offended or delighted that someone I hardly know would think this was the perfect book for me.

Maybe he's been spying on me...LMAO!

I have a few books to send on to my blog friends. If you are interested in any of these authors, please leave me a comment here or contact me via email. You're under no obligation to join bookcrossing or pass the books on...I'd just prefer to send my books on to friends who will actually read them.

Girlie stuff - Paullina Simons, Rosie Thomas, Catherine Alliott

Thrillers, Horror - Harlan Coben, David Baldacci, Jeffery Deaver, Dean Koontz

Happy Reading.

P.S. Nauti Nights isn't available as I have a feeling my girl Missy would enjoy it...LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!

I've been lucky enough to catch up with just about everybody I know these past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I've eaten and drank so much...I'll have to diet and possible have a liver transplant!

Here's a pic of my buddy whom I've know since I was a wee lass of 15. He's living in the States now and I hadn't seen him for two years. We ate too much (especially me), and drank too much (me again). I made him stay up till 3am because he kept beating me on the singing game and we just can't have that. He won't be invited back again!

I couldn't resist licking the bowl.

No, I didn't eat the chicken but I was tempted.

How come the boys won't let me play with their real guitars? I always have to settle with the plastic one.

Wow, a lot of food in this pic...I must have been really hungry!

It's all been nice, very, very nice!

AWARDS TIME

I don't usually do the awards thing but...

I've had a lot of support this week from the people here who know me best. I won't mention names because you know who you are. The dear souls who have put their problems aside to listen to me ramble on for hours, have sent me emails and funnies and one sweetheart who sang to me on a voice clip. I'm truly thankful to you all.

I've been lucky enough to make a couple of new friends this week too. I've spent hours chatting on the phone with WHITESNAKE
and occasionally with his better half. I've loved every minute of it and haven't laughed so much in ages. Steve, would have us believe he likes to bite but he's kind, generous, caring, FUNNY and wise (probably cause he's so old...lmao), did I mention FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you guys

I LOVE GREEN

This picture can be found all over the subway in Hong Kong. Every time I saw it, I was reminded of a certain blogger,(who shall remain nameless) but, I’m sure if you know him, you’ll know who I mean.

The locals thought I was mad for stopping in the middle of the subway to take a pic of an advertisement but I couldn't resist it.

They must start smoking young in Honkers. Too funny!

Speaking of funny signs. While on holiday in Australia, I came across a sign which read, “Dogs for the blind welcome”. Erm, I know dogs for the blind are extremely intelligent but I had no idea they could read!!!

And what about this New Zealand beaut on the road side - "Eyes closed...pull over and take a break". How can you read a sign if your eyes are closed? LMAO!

I FEEL THE NEED, THE NEED TO...WRITE

Only problem is...I spent a couple of hours being entertained on the phone last night - by Australians and a strange shrieking bird, and doodled (is doodled a word?), all over my notes. Least I'm back to my old self...be afraid, be very afraid!

I'll get back to it after my coffee...that's the writing; not the bird or the doodling.

I've a few people to thank for getting me back on track but I'll do it later today, when I have more time.

See you soon

WARNING: BLOGGING MAY BE HARMFUL TO YOUR HOUSE

I decided to work on my blog for five minutes while I waited for my egg to boil. I became a little distracted. An hour later…

I'm not sure if you can see from the pucture but the water boiled away, the egg shot out of the pan and the bottom of the pan has been burnt out. I’m lucky I didn’t burn down my kitchen.

I'M BACK...ACTUALLY, I NEVER LEFT

Didn't go to the beach after all. Every time we started packing up our stuff, the rain came down. So, you're gonna have to put up with me for a while.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY GLASSES?

My auntie, uncle and cousin are visiting from Yorkshire, England. I was lucky enough to spend the whole day and evening with them and my parents recently.

We had a barbeque in the rain - made them feel right at home, hehe. Followed by drinking and card games. The loser (usually me) had to wear silly glasses and a hat during the next round. I haven't laughed so much in ages.

Hubby and I are heading to the beach for a few days (if it ever stops raining).

Take care my friends and I'll see you soon.

THREE MEN AND A BABY

I spent most of my Christmas holidays with hubby, our good friend (Andrew), his son-in-law (Nik), and Nik’s baby (Athena).

I had some beautiful pics of the wee angel but unfortunately they were lost when my camera broke. I’ve retrieved a few from hubby’s camera.

I loved having the baby with us. She took quite a shine to me and followed me around and cuddle me all the time.

I’d wake at 7am to the sound of her little hands knocking on the caravan door. “Hello, hello”, she would say as she knocked. Not so adorable when 7am is practically the middle of the night for me, hehe.

The MEN decided to buy her a paddling pool. The box read, “Easy, 5 minute assemble”. Ninety minutes later…they were still struggling.

A pilot, an artist and a business owner - three grown, very successful men standing around a tiny paddling pool, scratching their heads. Oh, I laughed until I thought my sides would burst.

They eventually figured it out and Athena and I spent many hours splashing around.

The men consoled themselves by building a fire, chopping wood and numerous other manly activities. Grunt, grunt.
