Friday Flash 55 - The Palace Hotel

Here's my contribution to Friday Flash 55, which is brought to us by the talented Mr G-Man. My story this week is in honour of a beautiful, historical building which was demolished last night. RIP old girl!

PHIL DOYLE/Fairfax

The old girl stood proud for one hundred and twenty four years.
She was to be converted into a brothel
Her foundations creaked and groaned in protest
Is it any wonder cracks began to appear?
A decision was made quickly to put her to rest.
She was demolished overnight.
To be remembered at her best.

Bye for now

  1. She was a beautiful building. Those historical buildings have real charm and a regal air to them. Sad to see her demolished.
