How Rude

Sometimes I feel like such a schmuck, like I'm a nerd back at school being taken advantage of. An online acquaintance of mine (who usually doesn't give me the time of day) sent me a message asking a technical question about blogging. Actually, they didn't even have the decency to ask how I was or anything like that. That should have been my first clue to ignore the message. Anyway, I didn't know the answer off the top of my head but I replied to the message and said I'd get back to them. I was having quite a busy day and had stuff of my own to attend to but I did a bit of research and replied to the message with the info. I received another message from said person saying they already had that information and was there a quicker way to do it. I replied that there wasn't and didn't hear from them again. Not a thank you, nothing. Some people have no manners. Why do I bother?

Rant over,
Love KB

  1. Yes, I've had several people ask me if I would 'set up their blog' for them, as if I have enough time for that, lol. We all spent countless hours on a big learning curve, I'm sure they can figure it out as well. Some people have a lot of nerve don't they?

  2. Because you want to give people the benefit of the doubt?

A friend of my mother's (who I've never met) asked her if I could how to teach him (that thing she does with words and pictures.) I figured he was at such an elementary level it would be waaaay too time consuming and I didn't even know him.

  5. Err, uh, that wasn't me was it? *gulp* ;)

I have a load full of people that contact me only when they want something. *sigh* I've learned to avoid them when I can! Is that mean of me?

  6. The reason you bother is because YOU aren't rude! You need to quit posting pictures of food though...you make me hungry :)

  8. Sorry about that..., I made a spelling error.
I get asked to help blog and set up static websites all the time but when I make a suggestion it falls on deaf ears. It is not worth getting bothered about. I don't research anything for newbies anymore.... If their are interested enough, they figure it out by themselves with minor help.

  10. Hi KB
Things have been crazy here with the rain - we have flooding now. How is it there? Is there snow yet or too early? Yeah I'm one of the dumb Americans. haha At least I didn't get off a boat and ask you how far above sea level you are. I can't tell you how many times I have had that asked. I Just look at them then look at the boat and water behind them.
Patti is right - I get hungry every time I come here but I don't want you to stop putting up the photos. I have made some great stuff. And I don't gain in weight from looking. ;)
Yes people are rude. Fortunately I believe there are more considerate people than rude. The thing I find so funny about rude people is they act like it is nothing but if you treat them the same way they get offended. It's an amazing block they have. Quite possibly as a result of being dropped as an infant or being hit in the head too many times for stupidity. Being a Kentucky woman in Alaska by way of Chicago, (you don't want to know), I have learn to insult them and kindly say at the end "Bless your heart." For examples in a sugary voice: Aw! I know it's not your fault. You were raised by wolves. Bless your heart. People do not know how to respond to me. You could try that one. Or maybe not. But I hope I made you smile. Have a good one! Feel better hug coming from the US. Ready? *HUG*

  11. Takes all kinds, I guess.

We never really know who is on the Internet. Like me, for instance -- I must confess -- I'm not really a songwriting mom and happy wife / tree-climbing wine-lover living in Texas... I am actually a 37 year-old male shoe salesman and part-time zoo keeper in NYNY who loves wasting time being who I'm not, just to pass the time.

    Not!

    :)

    xo
